Progressive gifts: rewards that unlock at higher offers

Progressive gifts reward customers for picking a bigger offer. You set up a row of gifts, each one unlocking at a chosen offer, and shoppers see a progress tracker below your offers showing what they've earned and what's still locked. Unlocked gifts are added to the cart free.

Unlike the free gifts you attach to a single offer, progressive gifts are set up once for the whole bundle and shown as their own block. That's what lets a shopper watch the next reward come into reach as they move up your ladder.

Turn on progressive gifts

  1. Open your bundle and go to the Add-ons tab.
  2. Switch on Progressive gifts.
  3. Give the block a Title and optional Subtitle, for example "The more you add, the more you unlock".
  4. Click Add gift and pick a product.

Setting up each gift

Every gift has its own settings:

  • Product and, optionally, a specific variant. Leave the variant unset and any in-stock variant can be used.
  • Gift quantity, how many units the customer receives.
  • Unlock at, which offer earns this gift. The dropdown reads "At offer #2 (Buy 3) quantity or more".
  • Title and Title when locked, so a gift can read differently before it's earned.
  • Badge text (usually "FREE") and a Crossed-out value showing what the gift is worth.

How unlocking works

A gift unlocks when the customer selects an offer whose quantity is at least the quantity of the offer you tied the gift to. It follows quantity, not the position of the offer in your list, so you can reorder your offers freely without changing which gift unlocks when.

With offers Buy 1, Buy 3, and Buy 5, and gifts set to unlock at Buy 3 and Buy 5:

  • Selecting Buy 1: both gifts stay locked.
  • Selecting Buy 3: the Buy 3 gift unlocks.
  • Selecting Buy 5: both gifts unlock, because Buy 5 is past both thresholds.

If the gift unlocks at a bundle offer

When the offer you've tied a gift to is a bundle rather than a plain quantity tier, the customer has to select that exact bundle to earn the gift, and any mix and match slots in it must be filled. A different offer with a higher quantity won't unlock it.

Layout and the mobile bubble

Choose Grid or List for the gift cards. List layout adds a progress bar and stepper showing how far along the customer is.

On mobile you can also enable the Mobile gift bubble, a floating progress ring that appears when the gift block scrolls out of view. Tapping it scrolls back to the gifts. It fades away once everything is unlocked and comes back if the customer drops to a smaller offer. You can place it on the left or right.

Styling

The Gifts style group controls the accent color, card and header backgrounds, the locked and selected states, fonts, and corner radius. There's a shortcut to match the block's corners to your main widget so the two read as one design.

What customers are charged

Unlocked gifts are added to the cart alongside the main items and discounted to 100% off at checkout. If a customer later reduces their cart below the unlock threshold, Bundlex removes the gift rather than leaving it there at full price.

Gift quantity is a flat amount per cart. It doesn't multiply if the customer uses a quantity stepper to buy several sets.

Sold-out and deleted gifts

A gift whose product is sold out or deleted is hidden from the storefront completely, rather than showing as a broken or unavailable card. The progress tracker counts only the gifts customers can actually see, so the block never looks wrong.

The dashboard tells you when this happens, with a note above the block naming the hidden products, so restocking is an easy fix. Be aware the dashboard preview can occasionally show a gift your storefront hides, because availability depends on the market, sales channel, and fulfillment location a shopper is browsing in. Your live storefront is the accurate view.

If you delete an offer

Gifts tied to an offer you've since deleted can never unlock. The editor shows a warning naming those gifts so you can point them at a different offer. They stay locked in the meantime rather than causing an error.
