Limiting a bundle to specific Shopify Markets
If you sell into more than one country or region through Shopify Markets, you can decide which of those markets a bundle runs in. Pick the markets it should appear in, or pick the markets it should stay out of, and Bundlex handles the rest on both the product page and at checkout.
This is useful when an offer only makes commercial sense in some regions: a domestic-only free gift, a promotion you can't run where shipping costs more, or a discount that would undercut a local distributor.
Where to find the setting
- Open the bundle you want to edit.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Tick Limit to specific markets.
By default the checkbox is off and the bundle runs in every market, which is how all your existing bundles behave.
Choosing which markets
Once the checkbox is on, you get a dropdown with two modes and a checklist of your markets:
- Show only in selected markets - the bundle runs in the markets you tick, and nowhere else.
- Hide in selected markets - the bundle runs everywhere except the markets you tick.
Pick whichever is shorter to maintain. If you sell into a dozen markets and want to exclude one, use Hide in selected markets so new markets you add later are included automatically. If the offer is meant for one region only, use Show only in selected markets so new markets never pick it up by accident.
The market list comes from Shopify
The checklist shows the markets configured in your Shopify admin under Settings > Markets. Bundlex does not create or manage markets of its own, so if a market is missing from the list, add it in Shopify first and reopen the bundle.
Only active markets can be picked. Draft markets don't appear until you activate them in Shopify.
What shoppers see
When a shopper is browsing in a market the bundle doesn't cover, two things happen together:
- The widget doesn't render on the product page, so there's no offer to click.
- The checkout discount is withheld, so even a cart assembled another way pays your normal price.
Shoppers in a covered market see the bundle exactly as before. Nothing about the offer, its tiers, or its pricing changes; the market setting only decides whether the offer applies at all.
Things worth knowing
Bundlex may ask for a new permission
Listing your markets needs a Shopify permission Bundlex didn't previously request. If you see this in place of the checklist:
Bundlex needs a new permission to list your markets. Close and reopen the app, approve the updated permissions, and this list will load.
Close Bundlex, open it again from your Shopify admin, and approve the updated permissions when prompted. The checklist loads normally after that. This is a one-time approval, and it's read-only: it lets Bundlex read your market names, nothing else.
"Show only in selected markets" needs at least one market
If you choose that mode and untick every market, the bundle would apply nowhere, so Bundlex blocks the save until you tick at least one. With Hide in selected markets an empty list is fine, and simply means the bundle runs everywhere.
The editor preview always shows the bundle
The preview inside the bundle editor doesn't simulate markets, so it renders the widget regardless of what you've picked here. To check the real behavior, visit your storefront in the market you want to test.
Renaming a market is safe, deleting one is not
Bundlex tracks each market by its Shopify ID, not its name, so renaming a market in Shopify keeps your selection intact.
Deleting a market is different. In Hide in selected markets mode a deleted market is harmless. In Show only in selected markets mode, if you delete the only market on the list, the bundle no longer matches anywhere and stops appearing. If a bundle goes quiet after you reorganize your markets, open it and check this setting first. Markets that no longer exist are shown in the list marked (unavailable).
How it combines with other targeting
Market targeting is independent of the other ways you scope a bundle, and all of them have to pass for a shopper to get the offer:
- Show widget on decides which products the bundle appears on.
- Customer exclusions decide which shoppers are eligible.
- Market targeting decides which regions it runs in.
Market targeting is about eligibility only. It does not set different prices per market. Prices continue to follow your Shopify Markets pricing and currency settings, which Bundlex converts for display; see multi-currency pricing.
