Sending shoppers straight to checkout (skip cart)
By default, when a shopper adds a bundle from the Bundlex widget, their cart updates and they stay on the product page. If you would rather move them along faster, Bundlex can send them straight to checkout the moment the bundle is added. This is controlled by a single setting: Skip cart and go to checkout.
What "Skip cart and go to checkout" does
When this option is on, Bundlex waits for the bundle to finish adding to the cart, then automatically redirects the shopper to your store's checkout. They never stop on the cart in between. With it off (the default), clicking add to cart adds the items and the shopper stays on the product page, with the cart updating as usual.
The redirect fires on a short timeout after the add completes, just long enough for every line item in the bundle to register in the cart before the page changes. Your bundle discount still applies the same way it normally would at checkout.
When to turn it on
Bundlex recommends this option if you want a streamlined checkout flow. It works best when you want the fewest possible clicks between picking a bundle and paying:
- Single-product or focused stores where shoppers rarely keep browsing after they add a bundle.
- Campaigns and landing pages built around one offer, where the cart is an extra step you do not need.
- Any time you want to reduce drop-off between the product page and checkout.
If you would rather let shoppers keep shopping or review their cart first, leave it off so they stay on the page after adding.
How to turn it on
- Open the bundle you want to edit in the Bundlex dashboard.
- Find the Widget settings section.
- Check Skip cart and go to checkout.
- Save the bundle.
The setting applies to that bundle only. If you run several bundles and want this behavior everywhere, enable it on each one.
Good to know
- The redirect only happens after the bundle has been successfully added. If the add does not go through, the shopper is not sent to checkout.
- This option changes navigation only. It does not change how your discount is calculated or applied.
- The shopper is taken to your store's standard checkout, so the Cart & checkout label you set for the bundle appears there as usual. You can read more in Set the cart and checkout label.
